For a couple years, I worked in the remodeling industry — boots on the ground, sun on my back, hammer in hand. I wasn’t just watching the chaos of the jobsite... I was part of it.

My boss?

He was everywhere at once. One minute managing the crew, the next closing a deal, then on a call with a supplier, then racing across town to meet a client, all while trying to respond to reviews because "marketing is important."

I watched him juggle it all — sales, customer service, operations, estimating, deadlines, even putting out fires (okay, maybe not literal ones... but you get the idea).

I wanted to be an asset.

I helped my superiors as much as I could — I could see they were tired, stretched thin, always in go-mode. I am young, full of energy, and eager to step in wherever I was needed.

Whether it was loading up materials, smoothing things over with a client, or just making sure nothing fell through the cracks, I gave it my all. Still, even while I was in the field, part of me kept thinking...
